Job description

V2X Aerospace Solutions is seeking an electrical engineer to support manufacturing and repair of Defense electrical systems. The candidate must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and guide the successful completion of major electrical/mechanical subassemblies and final build and/or repair. The candidate should also be able to support multiple projects in a highly collaborative team environment. NOTE: This position is on-site daily.
Job responsibilities include:
  • Answer technical questions from suppliers of mechanical and electronic components.
  • Answer technical questions from technicians on the floor who are repairing electronic components and assemblies. Help them to troubleshoot and repair items when necessary, utilizing a variety of Analog, Digital and RF instrumentation, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counter, network analyzer, signal generator, spectrum analyzer and power meter.
  • Work with test engineers to identify and fix problems with test equipment and ensure test requirements are addressed appropriately.
  • Work with design engineers to address parts obsolescence, identifying issues, options, and to develop recommendations to resolve.
  • Review the Bill of Material (BOM) for accuracy prior to release to production or overhaul and repair.
  • Develop Manufacturing procedures to assist technicians with assemble/manufacture/repair of products.
  • Generate Drawings, Change Notices or Variances to support design changes required to resolve issues encountered during the manufacture or repair of products.
  • Create program kick-off documentation and manufacturing routings.
  • Integrate new technology into existing manufacturing processes to improve performance and reduce costs.

Required Skills:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of two (2) years full-time engineering experience
  • Ability to apply engineering principles, theories and concepts to develop solutions to routine technical problems
  • Ability to read Electrical schematics and basic knowledge of reading mechanical drawings
  • Experience in a manufacturing or depot support role working on electrical or electromechanical assemblies, such as circuit card assemblies, power supplies, electrical cable assemblies, or more complex systems
  • Experience with electronics diagnostic test equipment to be able to troubleshoot circuits to the component level
  • Able to understand electrical component datasheets and recommend replacements for obsolete parts
  • Experience with common industry and military specifications and standards
  • Experience writing/editing technical documents
  • Ability to travel domestically and abroad approximately 10% of the time.
  • MS Office Skills (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and to climb ladders to 50+ feet

Desired Skills:
  • 3-5 years of Engineering experience
  • Exposure to RF systems and defense electronics
  • Design and reverse engineering experience with defense-related products
  • Experience with RF and Power Supply theory and application
  • Experience with circuit card assembly and cable assembly processes
  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems, file structures and commands
  • Experience with C/C++ programming
  • Experience in development and maintenance of Engineering Technical Data Packages
  • Experience developing manufacturing routings
  • Technical leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead the resolution of technical challenges
  • Navy Veteran with Shipyard experience

Education / Certifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE/EET), Aerospace, Systems, or related field.
