Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and engaged intern who is working toward a degree and wants to develop beyond the classroom! At ADHS, we support a diverse, multicultural workforce that reflects the community, promotes equal opportunity at all levels of public employment, and creates an inclusive work environment that enables all individuals to perform to their fullest potential free from discrimination. This includes accessibility and providing accommodations for employees. The BRC intern will join our team for 52 weeks, working 19 hours each week. As soon as you're ready we can accommodate your class schedule so that you may work during business hours.

Job Duties:

In this role, you will learn a variety of licensing and registration modalities; participate in inspections and investigations and assist in issuing licenses and registrations for all forms of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
You will be coached and mentored by the the Bureau Chief, program managers, and/or others on the team by collaborating with them on inspections, investigations, trainings and special Bureau projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Strong verbal and communication skills.
Knowledge of science, math or environmental safety concepts.
Time management, organization, planning and problem solving skills.
Ability to observe and follow procedures accurately.

Selective Preference(s):

Working towards a degree in a related field and strong desire to develop beyond the classroom.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11).

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
