Essential Responsibilities & Activities:
  • Lead electrical hardware design and development of body electronics modules, sensors, and actuators from concept through production launch
  • Develop system requirements, specifications, and release documentation for vehicle body electronics
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance teams to support sourcing, supplier selection, and cost targets
  • Work closely with Tier 1 suppliers and the engineering teams to develop and release components
  • Perform virtual, bench, vehicle-level, and field testing to validate designs
  • Participate in DFMEA, ISO 26262 Functional Safety activities, Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), and design reviews
  • Ensure compliance with automotive safety standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices
  • Drive issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous product improvement
  • Support manufacturing, prototype builds, production launches, and production readiness activities
  • Manage supplier deliverables to meet quality, cost, and timing objectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve vehicle functionality, reliability, and customer experience
  • Mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture
  • Support a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture and mentor team members as needed

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of automotive experience in body electronics, body electrical systems, or electromechanical systems
  • Proven experience across the full product development lifecycle, including design, validation, testing, and launch
  • Strong expertise in body control modules, sensors, actuators, and vehicle electrical architectures
  • Experience with DFMEA, ISO 26262, WCCA, and automotive development processes
  • Familiarity with CAE tools and engineering analysis methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills utilizing Six Sigma or similar methodologies
  • Knowledge of U.S. automotive regulations and safety standards
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and cross-functional engineering and global teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment
  • Experience with electric vehicle (EV) systems
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical/electronic architectures
  • German language proficiency preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency with verbal and written communication skills, analytical problem solving, and creativity
  • Willingness to travel, as needed
