My client is an innovative American automotive manufacturer focused on redefining affordable electric mobility. They are developing a new generation of purpose-built electric vehicles with an emphasis on simplicity, modular design, and customer customisation.

They are looking for Exterior Design/Release Engineer to join their expanding team on a Contract basis.

The role will be based in Troy, Michigan

Job Description

As Exterior Design/Release Engineer your main responsibilities are:

  • Our Client is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Exterior Design/Release Engineer to join the growing team.
  • The DRE will be responsible for design and development of the exterior components and related structures across the organization.
Qualifications / Skills needed
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • 8+ years of vehicle design experience in the areas of interior and/or exterior trim.
  • Knowledge of design considerations required for plastic/composite components.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills.
  • Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to exterior components.
  • Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment
