Position: Circuit Card Design Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Circuit Card Design Engineer to lead end-to-end development of high-reliability power electronics for advanced systems. In this role, you will own the complete design lifecycle-from concept and schematic capture to layout, verification, and release-ensuring robust performance under demanding conditions.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and test teams to accelerate development cycles and deliver high-quality design solutions that meet stringent technical and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end circuit card design including concept development, schematic capture, layout, verification, and release
Design and develop power distribution circuit card assemblies meeting performance, thermal, and reliability requirements
Create schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Siemens Xpedition Enterprise (or equivalent)
Apply best practices in signal integrity, routing, EMI mitigation, grounding, and isolation
Define and manage system requirements including performance, interface, and environmental specifications
Perform trade studies to evaluate and select optimal components, architectures, and manufacturing processes
Generate complete design documentation packages, including:
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Drawings
Test plans
Verification reports
Partner with cross-functional teams to align design, procurement, and testing schedules
Support design reviews by providing technical documentation and verification evidence
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related field
8+ years of professional experience in circuit card design and development
Hands-on experience in power electronics design, integration, and testing
Strong experience with schematic capture tools (e.g., Siemens Xpedition or equivalent)
Proven ability to define and refine system-level requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with power system architecture and distribution design
Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, grounding, and isolation techniques
Familiarity with structured design assurance or product lifecycle processes
Experience with PCB layout tools (EPCAD or similar)
Understanding of environmental qualification testing (e.g., vibration, shock)
Ability to develop architecture diagrams, requirements documentation, and trade studies
