Job description

Electronic CAD Designer, DMA (Document and Mail Automation)

An Electronic CAD (ECAD) Designer is a professional who creates and maintains electronic and electrical designs using specialized Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layouts.
  • Generate manufacturing and assembly documentation.
  • Maintain component libraries and design databases.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Perform design rule checks (DRC) and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Support prototype builds and production releases.

Software

  • Altium Designer (Preferred)
  • Cadence OrCAD / Allegro
  • Autodesk Eagle
  • KiCad
  • Mentor Graphics PADS / Xpedition

Key Skills

  • 5+ years' experience developing PCB layout and routing
  • Electrical and electronic fundamentals (Desired)
  • GD&T and manufacturing documentation
  • BOM (Bill of Materials) management
  • IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351, etc.) (Desired)
  • DFM (Design for Manufacturability) (Desired)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving

Physical/Work Environments

  • Employee will primarily be working in an office environment with occasional travel to production floor for observation/research
  • Sitting for an extended period of time
  • Some walking between facilities
