Job Description

Turner & Townsendย is seeking anย Electrical Project Manager - Data Center Constructionย with Field Experience to support a high-profile data center construction project. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the General Contractor's construction activities, with a strong focus on reporting on schedule status back to the project owner. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise from working in the field, strong leadership, and a background in large-scale data center/mission critical works or electrical contracting environments.ย

Responsibilities: ย 

  • Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.ย 
  • Effective communication across our internal team to ensure efficiency and a consistent delivery to the client.ย 
  • Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.ย 
  • Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized.ย 
  • Ensure application of best practice on all projects.ย 
  • Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required.ย 
  • Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly.ย 
  • Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.ย 
  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.ย 
  • Forecast and update key project milestones.ย 
  • Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.ย 
  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.ย 
  • Rapid response to RFIs from the field.ย 
  • Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.ย 
  • Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.ย 
  • Client management - assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.ย 
  • Strategic Thinking - provides advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients' objectives and business objectives.ย 
  • Knowledge management - ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured.ย 
  • Process improvement - Identify ways to improve internal systems and processesย 
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.ย 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.ย 
  • Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction or with an electrical contractor.ย 
  • Experience with substation and power distribution systems preferred.ย 
  • Familiarity with MEP designย 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.ย 
  • Proficiency in project management toolsย ย 
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies.ย 
  • Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1 -5 )ย 
  • Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E's, equipment submittals and RFIs. ย 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction project management toolsย
