ELECTRICAL PANEL BUILDER
COMSTOCK PARK, MICHIGAN - LEAR ASI AUTOMATION DIVISION
NATURE OF WORK:
This position is responsible for the electrical build and modification of custom automation
systems. In this position, you will work with engineering through each stage of the process - design, build, install,
debug, and customer handoff. The candidate must be a self-starting, team player, who works well with others, has a positive attitude, and can prioritize work to ensure deadlines are met.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
  • Minimum 3 years of comprehensive experience
  • Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency to read and comprehend engineered drawings, schematics, and control standards
  • Layout, mount, wire and label components, panels, connectors, and other controls hardware according to
  • engineering's design
  • Broad knowledge of systems ranging from 120VAC to 575VAC, 24VDC, and 4-20mA.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Quality wire management
  • Proper wire tagging procedure
  • Field wiring standards
  • Follow proper precautions with cable management, sharp edges, and cord grips
  • Solid hand tool skills
  • Fabrication inside and outside of the shop environment
  • Communicate improvement ideas to improve design's efficiency, robustness, and/or cost
  • Embrace Teamwork
  • Ability to work on a team to support fabrication and installation teams
  • Embrace team approach with Outward Mindset mentality
  • Mentor/train talent
  • Communicate across cross-functional groups
  • Electrical installation at customer sites
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%

  • Computer skills - basic email, spreadsheet input, accessing folders, etc.
  • Understand and communicate applicable safety standards: general industry (OSHA 1910), machine guarding, robot safety (ANSI/RIA 15.06), automated vehicles, conveyor safety, NEC codes, and UL and CSA labeling.
