Our Robotic Engineer Designs, configures, and deploys scalable process automation on solutions focusing on robotic solutions to improve throughput, productivity, ergonomics, and reduce overall cost. Gathers and analyzes existing process flows, use cases, and requirements for comparison to automation proposals. Develop specifications to design and document automated workflow solutions primarily focused on welding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead concept development, selection, and specification of automated equipment (primarily robotic systems) to improve production throughput, safety, quality, ergonomics, and cost reductions.
  • Manage capital projects from cradle to grave including fixed asset requests, calculated project savings, project timelines, runoff acceptance, project status updates, and post implementation monitoring.
  • Author and compile equipment documentation for hand-off to production team. Drawing packages, calibration procedures, validation data, spare parts lists, etc.
  • Creating management systems to oversee robotic programming, touchups, and maintenance.
  • Hands-on responsibility for troubleshooting and repair of welding production equipment in support of the maintenance department.
  • Responsible for fundamental operator training as well as advanced robot training for production and maintenance personnel.
  • Troubleshoot deficiencies in equipment design, function, and application.
  • Stay current of improvements in robotics and relevant field of engineering.
  • May assume a team lead role for related work group (s)

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience

  • Education in automation, mechanical, robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar fields.
  • Minimum of two years industrial/manufacturing required.
  • Outstanding, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Robotic programming experience a plus
  • Verified ability to develop mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Computer science, applied physics, and history of mechanics preferred.

  • Stand and walk for long periods of time -Frequent sitting, working at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including being physically capable of maneuvering self throughout facility, Operations area, product, and equipment.
  • Ability to function and facilitate job duties at various subsidiary locations when need is required.
