Job description

Application Engineer Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for an Application Engineer with Applied Control at our Headquarters in Centennial, CO. We are looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Application Engineer to join our team.

Technical Expertise – Provide technical support to both internal and external customers. Emphasis to be placed on the creation of value through product and industry knowledge. Requires continuous learning and exploration of areas and interests that align with our customer needs.

Sales Effectiveness & Application Knowledge - Be able to apply product specific technical expertise to customer applications. Maintains a consistent focus on new product initiatives, technologies and sales concepts while managing gross profit margins in line with the overall company goals using a “Solution Sales” approach. Actively listens and looks for solutions opportunities in our other business groups within Applied Control on a regular basis.

Workflow - Prioritizes and manages workflow and communicates well with managers to ensure internal and external deadlines are met. Employs a "Quote to Win" strategy with all quotations / proposals.

Customer Intimacy - Consistently builds lasting business partnerships based on a desire to understand customer requests and provide solutions. Delivers exceptional customer service and valuable product expertise.

Application Engineer Responsibilities:

· Deliver technical assistance to external and internal customers for their process control solutions needs

· Execute Applied Control's overall business strategy and initiatives through interactions at various levels with customers and vendors

· Provide internal sales and technical support to account managers and outside sales specialists, exhibiting teamwork and effective communications

· Understand and effectively communicate customer needs and business issues to colleagues, positioning Applied Control as our customers’ trusted advisor

· Develop an unmatched level of expertise in the application of all our final control element products and solutions offered, delivering quality solutions and services to our many customers and industries

· Support customer activities including, but not limited to: responding to telephone and email requests, delivering technical product and application knowledge and support, and conducting terms and conditions negotiations

· Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, extensive phone and email communications with customers is expected

· Limited travel may apply. The Application Engineer positions require short, out-of-town paid training sessions.

Application Engineer Requirements and Skills:

· Strong technical background

· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

· Highly effective at building long term relationships

· Entrepreneurial work ethic

· A college degree in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial strongly preferred

· Use of MS Office products and other industry related software tools such as sizing, application, and quotation tools, and Windows OS

· Requires the ability to read and understand process and instrumentation drawings (P&ID’s) and conform customer instrumentation and final control specification sheets into properly applied products

· Great problem-solving skills

Application Engineer Compensation:

Base Wage Range: $70,000 - $100,000 Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.

Other Variable Compensation: Eligible for an annual profit share award based on company performance.
