OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Electrical Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2027 at our Greenwood Village, CO, Tulsa, OK, or Richmond, VA office. Imagine working on rewarding client projects and being exposed to unparalleled training and development opportunities.

Merrick’s Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands-on experience for students. Designed as a shorter-term, exploratory experience, internships allow students to apply what they’re learning in school while gaining exposure to real projects, professional collaboration, and day-to-day life at an employee-owned company.

The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2027. 


WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of electrical engineering.  Our intern will be exposed to a variety of electrical engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, industrial & facility electrical power, lighting, grounding, fire detection, lightning protection, instrumentation & controls, communication systems, and low to medium voltage power systems.

The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible.
  • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering with electrical emphasis from an A.B.E.T. accredited university.
  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
  • Knowledge of facility electrical and lighting design and/or power system design.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous internship in Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Revit
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu
  • Knowledge of power distribution design software (SKM PowerTools, Easy Power, ETAP)
  • Local Candidates preferred
