Job description

Ag Processing Inc (AGP) seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor to lead, develop, and optimize the electrical and process control systems at our St. Joseph refinery. This is a hands-on leadership role for a technically strong professional who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring talent, and driving continuous improvement in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

In this role, you'll have direct influence over plant reliability, modernization efforts, and system performance-working closely with management, engineering, and external partners to ensure safe, efficient, and innovative operations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians, overseeing daily activities, scheduling, and performance.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMIs, process control systems, instrumentation, and industrial electrical equipment.

  • Drive system improvements by supporting new electrical and process control projects from concept through installation.

  • Plan and execute calibrations, inspections, and preventive maintenance with accurate documentation and compliance.

  • Coordinate projects with contractors, vendors, and plant leadership to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.

  • Design and deliver training programs for PLC, HMI, and electrical systems to strengthen plant capabilities.

  • Maintain technical documentation, including prints, control system configurations, and system change records.

  • Support capital planning by researching E&I equipment, developing cost estimates, and making recommendations.

  • Ensure safety and compliance by following prescribed procedures and promoting a strong safety culture.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, HMIs, and process control systems.

  • Experience with instrumentation installation, repair, calibration, and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints.

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to train and mentor others.

  • Solid project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective in high-pressure situations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively with management, vendors, and consultants.

  • Comfortable using computer hardware, software, spreadsheets, databases, and technical applications.

  • Committed to staying current with evolving technologies and best practices.

  • Safety-focused mindset with a proactive approach to risk reduction.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience working with industrial electrical and motor control systems, including PLC programming (or equivalent experience)

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to lead critical systems in a complex, high-impact operation.

  • Hands-on role with significant influence over plant performance and modernization.

  • Collaborative environment where your expertise and ideas are valued.

  • Stable operation with ongoing investment in technology and people.

If you're ready to take ownership of plant electrical and instrumentation systems and lead a skilled team in a dynamic industrial environment, we'd love to hear from you.
