Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as an Advanced EKG Technician. This role involves performing a variety of non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures including EKGs, Stress Tests, Holter Monitors, Event Monitors, and related scanning tasks. You will have the opportunity to support multiple areas within the Cardiology department and occasionally assist other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as EKGs, Stress Tests, and Holter/Event Monitor procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Manage workload efficiently, prioritize tasks, and maintain effective time management.
  • Assist with supply inventory and ordering under supervisor guidance.
  • Verify physician orders and provide clear, compassionate patient and family education about procedures.
  • Ensure accurate billing and processing of procedures.
  • Maintain proper cleaning and sterilization of equipment following safety protocols.
  • Collaborate as a team member, meet deadlines, and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Focus on quality initiatives by identifying root causes of issues and taking ownership to resolve them.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an EKG certification program is preferred.
Experience
Previous experience as an EKG technician is preferred but not mandatory.
Certifications and Licenses
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required. Certified EKG Technician (CET) credential is preferred.
Physical and Mental Requirements
This position requires frequent standing for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, as well as pushing, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Strong mental focus and the ability to work under stress are essential. The role involves occasional exposure to infectious materials and challenging situations.
