Dematic Corp. seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Senior Manager to lead EHS efforts, maintain regulatory conformity, and promote continuous advancement within North American manufacturing sites. Reporting to manufacturing leadership, this role holds responsibility for cultivating a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting operational leaders with sound risk management methods.
The EHS Senior Manager will lead daily environmental, health, and safety operations, coordinating with operations, engineering, and HR to maintain consistent EHS standards. This role will apply data to recognize risks, empower supervisors and staff, and continuously elevate safety results throughout various manufacturing sites in North America
This position requires up to 50% travel and is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a hybrid work arrangement when not traveling to manufacturing sites.We offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $115,000- $155,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:
    What You Will do in This Role:
    • Lead and coordinate the organization's EHS function with direct accountability for a team of EHS professionals.

    • Develop and implement programs in partnership with the leadership of each function and manufacturing operations in North America.

    • Develop an "Best in Class" safety culture by implementing behavioral safety techniques and continuous improvement to encourage and influence leaders and employees.

    • Deliver formal and informal communication on key EHS activities to senior-level management and offer potential solutions as appropriate.

    • Serve as a member of the corporate EHS council to partner across all business segments in driving a global EHS strategy.

    • Interpret and implement regulatory requirements necessary to align with country and local statutes.

    • Work proactively alongside business leaders on process changes and the implementation of new processes and equipment to address the impact of environmental, health, and safety requirements.

    • Ensure EHS personnel are part of the review/approval process for material or process changes.

    • Maintain all Environmental and Safety compliance records and reporting in accordance with corporate specifications and regulatory requirements.

    • Demonstrate and apply deep knowledge of the field by completing complex tasks. Effectively employ advanced understanding of key concepts, techniques, and procedures within particular specialization areas. Show familiarity with the organization's operational methods and challenges.

    What We are Looking For:
    • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related area.

    • At least 15 years of leadership experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, ideally within construction environments.

    • A skilled EHS Leader experienced in steering forward-thinking efforts to promote a remarkable "Safety Culture."

    • Experience with proactive Behavior-Based Safety Processes.

    • Proven experience achieving measurable and balanced EHS results in a lean environment.

    • Demonstrated skill in developing strong connections across all tiers of the organization and encouraging changes that influence the business.

    • Ability to handle hands-on management and develop strategic plans. They should also deliver quick, high-level updates to company leaders.

    • Strong project management skills to drive the implementation of large-scale EHS initiatives.

    • Prior experience in directing initiatives related to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

    • Ability to work cooperatively with employees at every level throughout the organization.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate clearly with employees, leaders, and external partners.

    • Ability to travel up to 50%.
