As a Principal EHS Consultant - Business Growth Leader, you will:

  • Develop and execute a regional growth strategy focused on safety and EHS consulting services in the Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, and Pacific Northwest Region
  • Build, manage, and grow a personal and regional book of business through client development, cross-selling, and long-term partnerships
  • Identify, pursue, and win new opportunities; lead proposal development, pricing strategy, and client presentations
  • Serve as a trusted senior advisor to clients on safety management systems, regulatory compliance, risk management, and EHS performance improvement
  • Lead and oversee complex consulting engagements, ensuring delivery excellence across scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Collaborate with national service line leaders to expand multidisciplinary solutions (safety, IH, EHS systems, sustainability, and risk)
  • Mentor and develop regional consulting talent, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture
  • Represent BSI in the market through networking, industry events, and thought leadership

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 15+ years of consulting experience in safety, EHS, or risk management within a professional services environment
  • Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in EHS, safety, engineering, science, or a related field
  • Brings deep safety consulting expertise, with the ability to integrate occupational health and industrial hygiene as part of broader EHS solutions
  • Demonstrates strong business development success, including at least 5 years of revenue generation, sales, and client growth experience
  • Has a proven record of growing markets, developing client portfolios, and driving sustainable revenue
  • Possesses strong executive presence and credibility with senior client stakeholders
  • Has established relationships in semiconductor, health care, biopharma, chemical, manufacturing, energy, education or industrial sectors (strongly preferred)
  • Shows experience leading, mentoring, and scaling consulting teams
  • Is open to 30-50% travel
