Job description

EF Language Abroad is looking for dynamic, interactive, and energetic teachers to join our education team and are recruiting part-time ESL teachers for our summer program at our Miami Beach campus. Please note this position requires in-person teaching at our campus and not remote teaching.

  • Are you an ESL teacher looking to supplement your income in an international student environment, interacting with students of varying ages from over 40 countries?
  • Have you recently completed TESOL or CELTA training and are looking to put your new skills and training into practice while receiving developmental feedback from experienced, nurturing ESL professionals?
  • Are you retired from full-time teaching, yet still yearn for the classroom dynamic of working with students and honing their English language skills?
  • Do you possess the ability to think quickly on your feet and connect with a group of teenage and young adult learners while using state-of-the-art English language teaching materials to facilitate language acquisition?
  • Have you taught English abroad and miss the involvement with students mastering another language and acting as a representative of American culture?

The Role

Spend your summer teaching classes of 15-17 students of varying English proficiency from all over the world utilizing EF’s cutting edge in-house curriculum and methodology to lead interactive and hands-on classes. Add your own “sparkle” to the lesson plans to bring them to life and ensure your students are learning as much as they are having fun. EF provides dedicated face-to-face training as well as online training to ensure that you are prepared for your role. Our Academic Team will support your professional development as well as provide you with guidance throughout your tenure at the school.

Our summer program runs from June 29 th until August 21. Our classes are held from Monday to Friday between 8:30 and 17:05. Our student ages range from 15-70+. However, the majority of the students on our summer program are aged 15-18.

All candidates must have permission to work legally in the United States. We regret that we are not able to offer any visa sponsorship. As we have limited space in our Campus Residences, we are also unable to provide accommodation. Therefore, all candidates must have, or be able to arrange, their own accommodation within commuting distance of the school for the duration that they work with us.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and a natural leader in the classroom.
  • Responsible, approachable and friendly.
  • Highly organized, flexible and global minded.
  • 3 months of experience teaching ESL in a classroom setting with 15+ students(Preferred).
  • ESL or TEFL certified
  • Special consideration given to candidates with CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, or EFL training
  • Experience with standardized ESL exams, such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Cambridge a plus
