Job Description:

POSITION: Adult Education Instructional Aide/Program Assistant; Part-Time

LOCATION: NGTC Habersham Campuses

DESCRIPTION: The Adult Education Instructional Aide/Program Assistant assists instructors with providing education and/or training to technical college students. Some major duties include:

  • Administering placement tests for incoming students
  • Conducting post-testing to measure student progress and program outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate testing records and ensuring secure handling of assessment materials
  • Facilitating orientation sessions for new students which provide essential program information and expectations
  • Assisting students with initial paperwork, technology setup, and general onboarding questions
  • Answering incoming phone calls and providing courteous, helpful assistance to students, staff, and visitors
  • Submitting required data, reports, and documentation to the main office in a timely and accurate manner
  • Processing requisitions, maintaining organized files, logs, and student records, and event planning and support
  • Ordering and keeping inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Assisting the instructor with preparing classroom materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Helping set up learning spaces for daily instruction, labs, or special activities
  • Providing general support to ensure an efficient and student-centered classroom environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information
  • Comfortable working with computers, testing software, and basic office technology
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Associate degree in business or related field
