For over 60 years, St. Vincent's Special Needs Services (SVSNS) has been a cornerstone in the special education community, supporting students ages 3-22 from 27 school districts across Connecticut. SVSNS supports children and young adults with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, including autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, and neuromuscular disorders. Each year, the organization provides specialized educational and therapeutic services to more than 400 students and families.

- Deliver specialized instruction and educational support to students with significant developmental needs in an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Develop individualized goals and objectives aligned with each student's abilities, needs, and interests.
- Develop and implement structured lesson plans and schedules that support student engagement, learning outcomes, and individualized education program (IEP) goals.
- Conduct formal and informal student assessments, monitored progress, and analyzed performance data to support instructional planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary (PT, OT, Speech, RN) instructional teams to ensure high-quality, individualized services aligned with current best practices in special education.
- Foster a respectful, encouraging, and supportive classroom environment to promote student growth and participation.
- Supervise and provide guidance to education assistants and instructional aides to support effective classroom operations.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, learning goals, and classroom activities.
Qualifications:Comprehensive Special Education, K-12 (#165) Cross-Endorsement or the ability to receive a DSAP are required for employment
Education: BA/BS Degree required.
Work Experience: 2 years experience in special education preferred.
