Job description

Senior Manager, Project Management - Learning Platforms Operations Lead
Capital One's Enterprise Learning Platform and Operations team is seeking an analytical, governance-minded, and partner-first lead to serve as the primary architect of our LMS and how it connects to other learning technology and the broader HR and associate experience ecosystem. This leader of leaders will maximize business impact, operational efficiency, and learner value from our learning platforms, particularly our LMS.
This role sets us up to deliver on a global, automated, and AI enabled future for our LMS. In close partnership with our dedicated internal product, data, and tech teams, this lead will shape the roadmap, project plan, and delivery of learning enhancements. Collaborating with learning and associate experience teams across the Enterprise, this leader of leaders will horizontally guide and steward a governance by design culture across Capital One.
The ideal candidate for this role is:
  • A systemic problem solver: You are obsessed with understanding how systems interact and work and enjoy piecing together tech-forward solves that fix and systemically future proof the problem from happening again.
  • Governance minded: You view the right governance as an accelerator, not a roadblock and have a proven track record of managing complex systems at scale with impeccable judgment.
  • A strategic connector: You enjoy rolling up your sleeves with the business, learning partners, and the team to negotiate priorities across departments, future proof the standards, and bring those tactics to life.
  • A communication architect: You can translate technical noise into clear, simplified documentation that creates alignment across your team and the broader organization.
  • A collaborative self-starter: You are tenacious and comfortable leading go-to-market efforts across a broad stakeholder set to drive momentum via effective project management and execution against it.

What You'll Do:
  • Define and drive the long-term roadmap for the Capital One LMS with a tech, automation, and AI-first mindset.
  • Define and track annual success measures focusing on capability gaps and specific business outcomes.
  • Align internal partners (e.g., product, data, tech) to a set of prioritized learning platform capabilities across the entire Capital One enterprise.
  • Lead the go-to-market planning, launch, and execution of new features, updates, and pilots, with a specific focus on AI enablement, in coordination with internal learning, product, and data leads.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute high leverage opportunities for admin and end user support automations that enhance admin team and learner productivity.
  • Navigate back office system dependencies (e.g., HR systems, Associate Experience, access management, cyber) and negotiate for prioritization that enhance a seamless, intuitive learner experience.
  • Establish and refine global standards for system use, ensuring documentation is both comprehensive and cleanly simple.
  • Build an enterprise-wide community collectively focused on learning governance that enables learners to simply surface relevant and trusted learning.
  • Maintain an audit-ready environment that manages the ongoing execution of +20 regular audits.
  • Meet regularly with business leaders and consultants to translate organizational needs into business case build outs for new L&D capabilities and AI enablement across our tech stack.

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in strategic process, project, or program management
  • At least 3 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Business, Education, Information Technology, or Communications
  • Experience managing audit-ready systems in a regulated environment
  • 3+ years in L&D, HR or EdTech system management
