Primary Responsibilities

Apollo is building out its editorial operation to help the world better understand the evolution of markets, what the firm does, how it thinks, how it operates, and the impact it has on economies, businesses, investors and individuals. This role helps lead that effort as part of the Corporate Communications team, which oversees all communications, brand and corporate marketing activities globally.

  • Lead Apollo’s corporate editorial operation, writing, editing and publishing data-driven insights, compelling storytelling and shaping original research. Must be able to explain what the firm does, how we think, the evolution of markets, and the context behind where things are headed, for the firm’s internal and external digital channels and beyond
  • Establish and maintain editorial processes, guidelines, and standards that enable consistent, high-quality output
  • Draft story concepts and lead production with internal teams, external agencies across articles, infographics, explainers, audio, video and other creative formats
  • Build and steward a modern editorial operation and calendar that functions at the pace of a newsroom to ensure the right stories get told at the right moment and that editorial supports franchise positioning, “direction of travel” and business objectives. Set the production and intellectual standard for everything that carries Apollo’s name
  • Manage editorial calendar aligning with market events, economic developments, and key business priorities
  • Run a live editorial operation: identify moments to connect Apollo’s investments, thinking and leadership to current events, and move decisively to capitalize on them
Qualifications & Experience
  • 15+ years in financial or business journalism or in a senior editorial role at an institution with genuine intellectual authority, a major publication, research institution or financial firm with serious thought leadership operation
  • Deep fluency in capital markets, private capital and investments, with expertise spanning both credit and equity
  • Instinctive story-spotter who can move at newsroom-speed without sacrificing quality or accuracy
  • Demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style, responding quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Fluent editor across formats (written, visual, audio)
  • Ability to distill complex financial and business concepts into clear, compelling narratives
  • Modern, creative and highly collaborative with a franchise-first mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail; high editorial standards across every format

Pay Range

$215,000 – $300,000
