They often collaborate with IT teams and business partners to implement and support EDI solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an EDI Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, knowledge of EDI standards (like X12 or EDIFACT), and experience in data mapping, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with EDI translators, integration platforms (such as IBM Sterling or SPS Commerce), and relevant certifications like EDI Professional Certification is highly valuable. These competencies ensure seamless electronic transactions, efficient business processes, and robust partner relationships.
