Job description

Routing and Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Routing & Logistics Coordinator to oversee daily routing operations and support a small logistics team in a distribution and order fulfillment warehouse. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of routing and shipping experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

This position is responsible for coordinating timely and accurate shipments for major retail customers while ensuring compliance with customer routing guides, EDI requirements, and shipping standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate daily routing and logistics operations
  • Route pickups and deliveries for major retail customers, including Target, Walmart, JCPenney, and Kohl's
  • Verify and approve routing information for accuracy and customer compliance
  • Review customer routing guides and ensure all shipments meet required specifications
  • Calculate shipment cube, dimensions, weight, and volume requirements
  • Prepare and review Bills of Lading, packing lists, shipping labels, and other shipping documentation
  • Oversee EDI transactions, including EDI 753/754, and ensure timely transmission of required documents
  • Coordinate with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to meet shipping deadlines
  • Monitor shipment schedules and resolve routing or transportation issues
  • Lead, train, and support logistics team members as needed
  • Maintain routing standards and ensure shipments are efficient, accurate, on time, and cost-effective
  • Monitor retail compliance requirements and address routing discrepancies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased logistics efficiency
  • Prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform other logistics and routing duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in routing, logistics, shipping, transportation, or a related field
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Proven experience routing shipments for major retail customers
  • Experience with Target, Walmart, JCPenney, and/or Kohl's highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of EDI processes and retail routing compliance
  • Experience with shipment planning, volume calculations, and shipping documentation
  • Experience leading, training, or supervising logistics or warehouse employees
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent computer and data-entry skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize time-sensitive shipments
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • U.S. work authorization required
