Job description

Overview
At TDS Telecom, our interns are the future of our company. We provide hands-on learning experiences in a real-world environment, helping you sharpen the skills and knowledge relevant to your field of study or career path. Our goal is to equip you for success and prepare you to compete for opportunities within our company, both now and in the future. Whether you join us immediately after your internship or return to TDS later in your career, we are committed to ensuring you leave with more experience and insight than when you started.
Work Schedule: This is a 12-month internship. We require at least 30+ hours per week during core business hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm CST), but you can work up to 40 hours per week if your schedule allows.
Pay: The hourly compensation for this position is $19.00/hr
Location: This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ states in which TDS Telecom operates.

As an intern at TDS, you'll have the opportunity to partner with seasoned professionals on high-priority company projects and day-to-day operations. During your internship, TDS offers you:

Responsibilities
In this position, you will have the opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech learning environment. Your existing problem solving, communication, and organizational skills will be expanded by learning a broad spectrum of technologies that will build a solid foundation for your career. You will evaluate leading-edge technologies and develop programs to support various products on TDS' network.

  • Desire to apply your academic knowledge through a variety of work assignments focused on geographic data
  • Wanting to challenge yourself to be part of the solution through creative ingenuity through creation of map products
  • Looking to evolve your GIS skillset via hands-on assignments
  • Comfortable addressing issues and finding creative solutions through GIS analysis and query operations
  • Capable of handling multiple project tasks simultaneously

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Must be able to complete at least 30-40 working hours between Monday-Friday, 8-5pm CST

  • GIS experience including GIS applications or GIS certification preferred
