Job description

Overview
The Medical Scribe provides documentation support to providers by accurately entering and completing clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR) based on provider documentation and direction. This role does not accompany providers into patient rooms but instead focuses on ensuring timely, complete, and accurate charting within eClinicalWorks (eCW).
Responsibilities:
  • Review provider documentation and enter information into the EMR accurately and efficiently
  • Complete and update patient charts, including histories, assessments, and plans as directed by the provider
  • Enter orders, referrals, and other documentation elements per provider instruction
  • Ensure charts are complete, organized, and ready for provider review/sign-off
  • Navigate and utilize eClinicalWorks (eCW) to support workflow efficiency
  • Assist with chart preparation and follow-up documentation as needed
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation when needed

Qualifications:
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR strongly preferred
  • Previous medical scribe or clinical documentation experience, ideally in family practice or primary care
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple charts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
