Technical Summary:

The Digital Experience organization is responsible for delivering secure, accessible, and engaging digital experiences that support Kaiser Permanente members and business stakeholders across web and digital channels. This leadership role serves as a key contributor in shaping the strategy, architecture, implementation, and ongoing evolution of enterprise digital experience platforms and solutions.

Working closely with Product Management, User Experience, Engineering, Operations, and other business partners, this position provides technical leadership for teams building enterprise web applications/frameworks/platforms leveraging technologies such as Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Services, and related digital experience capabilities to deliver scalable, personalized, and high-performing member experiences. This position also practice hands on coding integrations, APIs, microservices, and cloud-based applications.

In support of Kaiser Permanente's digital experience ecosystem, this role works across a broad portfolio of technologies and platforms, including Adobe Experience Cloud solutions, Angular, React, GraphQL, APIs, microservices, Microsoft Azure, Akamai, F5, Apigee, GitHub, Java, Node.js, NoSQL databases, and enterprise integration frameworks. These technologies enable the delivery of scalable, secure, and personalized digital experiences for members and business stakeholders.

This position plays a critical role in advancing digital capabilities, guiding architectural decisions, addressing complex technical challenges, and fostering innovation across member-facing digital channels. The role helps ensure solutions align with organizational standards for security, accessibility, scalability, performance, and operational excellence while supporting the organization's digital transformation objectives.

Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this senior technical leader position is also responsible for leading the development of internet applications and software tools. This includes partnering with product teams to understand and define the product vision, and overseeing the development and support of end-to-end solutions including architecting, designing, developing, and testing member-facing applications/systems using cloud, content management systems (CMS) and traditional integrations.

This position is also responsible for leading the development of cloud applications, CMS, and integration solutions on a variety of platforms; serving as a lead expert in the research and resolution of technical issues; recommending appropriate interventions/modifications on critical and/or escalated issues; and ensuring work processes and products meet KP IT security and development standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drives the execution of multiple work streams by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and updating new procedures and policies; gaining cross-functional support for objectives and priorities; translating business strategy into actionable business requirements; obtaining and distributing resources; setting standards and measuring progress; removing obstacles that impact performance; guiding performance and developing contingency plans accordingly; solving highly complex issues; and influencing the completion of project tasks by others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and eight (8) years experience in software development or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Minimum six (6) years experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions development life cycles (e.g., SDLC).
  • Minimum four (4) years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Minimum six (6) years experience developing and/or implementing web-based applications.
  • Minimum four (4) years experience in developing and utilizing cloud based technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Minimum four (4) years experience working with web application frameworks (e.g., Angular, HTML5, CSS, GraphQL, etc.)
