Job description

We’re looking for a seasoned leader to join our Natural Resources team as a Group Manager in our San Diego office. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone at the Senior or Principal level in biology or a related discipline, who enjoys mentoring staff, managing projects, and contributing technically.


What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and support a team of biologists and natural resource specialists
  • Oversee staff workload, timesheets, expenses, vacation/training requests, and equipment needs
  • Lead hiring planning and contribute to recruiting efforts
  • Conduct staff performance reviews and guide professional development
  • Prepare and review proposals, scopes of work, and budgets
  • Foster internal collaboration and develop business opportunities
  • Contribute to corporate committees and share insights with leadership

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related field
  • 10+ years of technical experience (including 2+ in consulting)
  • 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience managing people, budgets, and project pipelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Valid California Driver’s License
