We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Business Development Associate to join our team and build the pipeline that fuels our strategic growth activity.
We are looking for a natural relationship-builder and relentless self-starter who can lead in generating deal flow (via phone and email) by connecting with business owners to identify partnership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Relationship Development
  • Source proprietary acquisition opportunities through high-volume direct outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn, direct mail)
  • Build long-term relationships with founders, family business owners, executives, and trusted intermediaries
  • Attend and represent KCG at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
  • Act as a professional, values-driven first point of contact for prospective partners

Pipeline & CRM Management
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date records of all outreach activity, conversations, and opportunity status within the CRM system.
  • Track pipeline metrics including outreach volume, contact rates, conversion rates, and qualified opportunities generated.
  • Provide regular updates to senior team members on sourcing activity and pipeline health.

Transaction Modeling & Financial Analysis
  • Build and maintain investment and operating models focused on long-term cash flow, return on capital, and stewardship mindset
  • Support valuation analysis, deal structuring, and investment committee materials
  • Assist with due diligence across financial, operational, and strategic dimensions
  • Support integration plan development

Post-Close Integration & Ongoing Portfolio Support
  • Support post-acquisition integration efforts alongside operating company leadership team
  • Track KPIs, operating metrics, and value creation initiatives
  • Assist with strategic projects across portfolio companies (revenue operations, systems, reporting, growth initiatives)
  • Develop a deep understanding of portfolio company operations over time

Qualifications & Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • Proven experience in cold calling and business development, including high-volume outbound outreach, relationship building with senior decision-makers, and disciplined follow-up to generate proprietary opportunities and advance conversations over time
  • Excellent communication skills and professional presence
  • High level of organization, follow-through, and ownership mentality
  • Demonstrated problem solving and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to proactively identify opportunities and design and implement solutions to drive outcomes
  • Experience with data analysis and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms

Preferred
  • Experience interacting directly with business owners or senior leadership team members
  • Interest in operations, not just transactions
  • Desire for a long-term career within an evergreen or long-duration investment platform
