The Manager of Ecommerce position exists to drive the strategy, performance, and growth of Focus on the Family's ecommerce revenue, reach, and relationships through the online store and other digital channels. Equipped with a new ecommerce platform, the Manager of Ecommerce will be charged with leading Marketing, Inventory Management, Research and Development, as well as administrative duties to grow the ecommerce business for the ministry. The Manager of Ecommerce will oversee the operations of the Focus brick-and-mortar Bookstore, assisting the Bookstore Manager in the strategy, performance, and growth of store revenue. This position will lead a team consisting of an Operations Specialist, UX Designer and the Bookstore Manager to measure performance and deploy strategies for improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Marketing:
  • Owns performance scorecard and reports on results

  • Works closely with Digital Solutions Team to optimize user experience and site performance following industry best practices

  • Partners with the Digital Engagement Team to integrate the ecommerce store into the constituent journey

  • Manages product promotion on internal websites and company email platform, such as FOTF.com, AdventuresinOdyessy.com, etc.

  • Reports and analyzes defined metrics, complete with action items for improvement

  • Owns and manages the BigCommerce platform

  • Owns and manages Focus Digital (Salesforce platform)

  • Trains Focus staff on BigCommerce and Salesforce platforms

  • Manages web analytics platforms for the ecommerce store and digital delivery website, translating data insights into actionable recommendations for site and campaign optimization

  • Drives revenue growth through conversion rate optimization (CRO), applying A/B testing, UX improvements, and industry best practices to improve funnel performance

Optimizes the ecommerce store and digital delivery website for organic search (SEO)
  • Partners with Advertising Team to develop and execute paid advertising campaigns

  • Manages digital marketing channels, such as iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play

Inventory Management:
  • Owns and manages strategic relationships with third-party fulfillment and logistics partners, ensuring service-level agreements and operational standards are met

  • Develops demand forecasts for all marketing campaigns and coordinates with suppliers and fulfillment partners to ensure timely and accurate inventory availability

  • Manages inventory levels for Focus-owned products across multiple fulfillment channels, including in-house warehousing, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and dropship arrangements, to ensure adequate stock availability and minimize fulfillment disruption

  • Oversees the catalog, pricing, and delivery infrastructure for digital products, ensuring a seamless end-to-end customer download and access experience

  • Serves as point of contact for digital product vendors

  • Maintains and governs the product master catalog, including SKU setup, product attributes, pricing, and data integrity across ecommerce and fulfillment systems

  • Manages the ecommerce P&L, overseeing revenue, cost of goods, and operating expenses to achieve financial targets and inform strategic investment decisions

Research and Development:
  • Develops and executes test scenarios using a variety of methodologies (A/B, Multivariate, User, etc.)

  • Analyzes and implements testing results

  • Manages relationships with development partners

  • Analyzes weekly Customer Critical (CRIT) feedback, transforming raw customer issues and research notes into standardized executive summaries to drive continuous improvement of the ecommerce platform and customer journey.

Administrative:
  • Manages Ecommerce and Bookstore team

  • Trains and develops staff on ecommerce best practices, as well as professional development

  • Manages department budget

Other Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
  • Supervises a team of 1-3 staff

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong knowledge in e-commerce and digital distribution industry
  • Experience in working with iTunes, Amazon and other digital service providers preferred
  • Working knowledge of CBA, Special Markets, and Christian publishing industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of financial reports
  • Working knowledge of Focus on the Family mission, philosophy, core values, and priorities
  • Experience in brick-and-mortar retail a plus

Pay Range: $72,904 to $87,153
