Compensation: Base salary of $150,000 plus a 20% target bonus, with opportunity for CFO level compensation and equity participation

A growing, multi-entity organization operating in the e-commerce fulfillment and logistics space is seeking a Controller to join its leadership team. This role is open due to an upcoming retirement and offers a clear path to a CFO position within approximately one year. The company supports clients by managing order processing, packaging, shipping, and related logistics coordination across multiple states, without physically handling inventory.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5โ€“10 years of experience in a Controller or similar leadership role
  • Strong combination of strategic thinking and hands-on accounting capability
  • Experience working across multiple entities
  • Proven ability to build or improve financial systems and reporting
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks; NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Prior team management experience required
  • Background in e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, distribution, or similar industries preferred
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with periodic domestic travel (typically short trips of 2โ€“3 days for conferences or meetings)


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee financial operations across four primary entities and support an additional 12 smaller entities
  • Manage and mentor a team of four direct reports
  • Remain hands-on with accounting functions, including journal entries and financial oversight
  • Build, improve, and streamline financial systems and reporting processes, particularly around cash flow and intercompany activity
  • Manage financial reporting across multiple entities (currently non-consolidated), with a focus on scalability and improved structure
  • Monitor multi-state operations and identify tax filing requirements as the business grows (no complex tax structures; limited exposure such as R&D credit)
  • Work primarily within QuickBooks, along with one entity on NetSuite and a proprietary internal logistics system
  • Coordinate with a PEO for payroll and related functions
