About the Role

The Director of Donor Development provides vision and leadership for all aspects of donor stewardship, creating and executing a comprehensive strategy to deepen existing donor commitment and cultivate new relationships. This role oversees donor outreach, communication, and reporting while leading a small development team to ensure excellence in execution. In close collaboration with the Sr. Director of Integrated Strategy and Insights, and other senior leaders, the Director of Donor Development ensures the cultivation, growth and stewardship of the donor file by driving initiatives that inspire generosity and strengthen connections. This leader plays a pivotal role in funding the mission of Proverbs 31 Ministries: that women will know and live out the truth of Gods Wordbecause it changes everything.


What Youll Do

  • Develop and implement a long-term strategic plan that drives sustainable fundraising growth while prioritizing a meaningful and consistent donor experience at Proverbs 31 Ministries.
  • Own and achieve annual fundraising revenue goals exceeding $1 million by overseeing forecasting, budget management, and performance monitoring.
  • Secure significant five- and six-figure commitments through strategic cultivation and solicitation of an assigned major donor portfolio of 20-25 individuals.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Integrated Strategy and Insights and other Senior leaders to develop the Global Communication Calendar, aligning strategies for mass donor acquisition and ongoing donor cultivation and stewardship for digital and print campaigns.
  • Provide visionary leadership for fundraising events and activities ensuring that goals are met and donor experience is aligned with the Proverbs 31 brand.
  • Represent the ministry at various events and initiatives including but not limited to: livestream events, in-person events, video recordings, and speaking opportunities.
  • Lead and develop the Donor Development team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Provide strategic oversight of audience segmentation, the moves management process, the recurring giving program, and impact reporting to drive growth and strengthen donor retention.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators including donor retention, acquisition cost, recurring donor growth, portfolio performance, and return on investment.
  • Oversee the management of the donor database to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliable reporting that supports effective decision-making.
  • Employ industry-wide concepts and best practices (including ECFA Standards and AFP trends) in campaign planning, strategy, and execution to maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Serve on the senior leadership team.


What Youll Bring

  • An understanding of and a commitment to the mission and values of Proverbs 31 Ministries.
  • Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including team leadership responsibility; CFRE designation is a plus.
  • Strong track record in annual fund and major gifts solicitation with success in securing five and/or six figure gifts.
  • An understanding of the design and implementation of inbound and digital marketing strategies is a plus.
  • Ability to independently develop, implement and sustain donor relationships that drive long-term engagement and success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey the Proverbs 31 mission and vision through both individual conversations and public speaking opportunities.
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage time, details and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office with basic knowledge of CRM systems and nonprofit fundraising technologies. Experience with Virtuous CRM is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, staff, and stakeholders ensuring positive engagement with the ministry.


Physical Requirements

  • Attendance and participation at events, often requiring long periods of standing.
  • Occasional weekend and/or irregular hours.
  • Travel is required for this role.
