Senior Business Analyst – Lab Applications

It is in Philadelphia, PA with a hybrid model.

Job Title

Sr. BA – Lab Applications Hybrid – 3 days on, 2 days off (Can be remote for the first month for relocation)

Client Description

Medium sized Biotechnology company that focuses on Cell & Gene Therapies. Focus is in a niche and emerging market. IT Org- continuing to grow. Have a lot of projects on the horizon as IT is becoming more integrated with cross functional teams.

Project Description

Our client is looking for a strong BA who has experience with Lab Applications/Systems to join the team. First project: Upgrade from Blue Mountain RAM R3 on-prem to R3 cloud. You will be one of the go-to BA's for this project as it kicks off in November. Blue Mountain is discontinuing their on-prem in 2023 and they need to implement this rather quickly. Targeting a go-live in Q2 or Q3 of next year. Second Project: Centralizing Lab Applications/Systems. They need help organizing process so that documentation, workflow, and ownership of certain systems is in place. Current state is very decentralized and it creates more work on people within IT and business users/owners. You will help with the evaluation of the current environment and figure out best practices on moving forward. Other initiatives: Several projects are in process or in pipeline that could potentially assist. ELN, EBR, LIMS, MES, CDS, EMS, Environmental Monitoring.

Technology Environment the Consultant Will Be Working In

Blue Mountain RAM, Excel, SharePoint

Consultants Day To Day Responsibilities
  • Training: 4 weeks
    • Company overview, introduction to different teams, training on documents/workflows
  • Work closely with PM and system analyst on Blue Mountain Cloud R3 project
    • Sit down with business users and gather, validate, and document requirements on workflows/system features
    • Assist with creating/conducting UAT scripts
    • Assist with authoring traceability matrices, risk assessments, test plans, training documents, and SOPs
  • Partner with IT SME's on centralizing Lab Applications/System workflows
    • Evaluate current state of documentation and ownership
    • Work with end users on requirements, SOPs, access, and workflows on each application
    • Lab Applications you might support here: ELN, MES, EMS, LIMS, EBR, CDS
Required Skills
  • Experience working in an GxP, 21 CFR Part 11 environment
  • Experience as a BA working on CMMS project or ownership of day to day (Blue Mountain preferred)
    • Working with End Users on gathering business requirements
    • Creating test scripts and test plans and conducting UAT
  • Experience as a BA working with a few other Lab Applications
    • Ie – ELN, CDS, LIMS, EBR, EMS, MES
