EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP) COUNSELOR

PART-TIME, AFTERNOONS

SUMMARY:

  • Performs clinical assessment of client's presenting problems. Helps the client specify desired outcomes that are mutually understood and agreed upon. Provides individual, group,and family counseling servicesincluding assessment, treatment planning, and referrals, if appropriate.

  • Clients include colleagues and family members of Saint Alphonsus and our client companies. Clients are typically adults, families, and occasionally, children from ages 10 and above.

  • Participates as a member of the department treatment team to help ensurethe most appropriate treatment of clients.

  • Documents clinical and consultative activities.

  • Works to develop and promote the programs and objectives of the department.

HOURS and ENVIRONMENT: Two positions are available as follows:

  • POSITION 1: Boise: M, Tu, and Th 230pm - 630pm; Wed 130pm - 630pm; Fri 230pm-530pm.
  • POSITION 2: Rotating Boise three days a week and Nampa (flexible) two days a week:M, Tu and 230pm - 630pm; Wed 130pm - 630pm. Fri 230pm-530pm.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist required in the state where practicing.

  • Five years post-graduate experience in a related mental health setting or hospital required.

  • Experience in crisis intervention and brief therapy techniques preferred.

  • Additional professional certifications (e.g., CAC, EMDR etc.) preferred.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups.

  • Conducts triage assessments of clients and help the client identify desired outcomes.

  • Counsel patients and families regarding recommended levels of careandcommunity resources

  • Documents activities accurately and timely to assure proper billing and productivity statistics. Accurate documentation includes clinical description, referral sources, demographic information, financial/insurance information and follow-up requirements.

  • Leads critical incidentdebriefing groups as needed.

  • Participatesin the on-call rotation to meet the needs of service line external contracts.

  • Worksevening hours when required.

  • Writes mental health articles for quarterly newsletter.

  • Participates as an active member of the department team to create and deliver client education projects. Develop and promote the programs and objectives of the department.
