Hourly Remote Worldwide information

What are Hourly Remote Worldwide jobs?

Hourly Remote Worldwide jobs are positions that allow employees or freelancers to work from any location globally, with compensation calculated on an hourly basis. These jobs are typically offered by companies or clients who value flexibility and need tasks completed based on the actual hours worked, rather than a fixed salary. Common roles include customer service, virtual assistance, writing, programming, and design. Workers in these roles can often set their own schedules, making it appealing for those seeking work-life balance or who are located in different time zones. Payment is usually processed through online platforms or direct deposit, depending on the employer.

How do teams typically manage communication and collaboration for hourly remote roles across different time zones?

In hourly remote worldwide positions, teams often rely on a combination of asynchronous tools like email, project management software, and instant messaging platforms to ensure everyone stays informed despite time zone differences. Regular check-ins, clear documentation, and scheduled overlap hours for real-time meetings help maintain alignment and productivity. It's important to proactively communicate your availability and stay organized to manage tasks efficiently. Many organizations also foster a culture of transparency and flexibility to accommodate diverse schedules while meeting project goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Worker in an hourly, worldwide position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a remote hourly worker, you need strong self-management, time-tracking skills, and proficiency in your specific job function, often supported by experience or relevant education. Familiarity with remote collaboration tools (such as Slack, Zoom, or Trello) and time-logging platforms is typically required. Outstanding communication, adaptability, and self-motivation set top performers apart in remote environments. These skills ensure productivity, accountability, and seamless collaboration across different locations and time zones.

Job description

Why Seyfarth
At Seyfarth, we understand that great people are the key to our success, and we provide the opportunities to match. If you join us, you'll work with state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and professional environment, and we will continue to invest in your professional development. If you want the freedom to grow at a firm that is invested in your future, keep reading.
The Opportunity
Our national Innovative Staffing Team (IST) is an elite, highly trained "swat team" of Labor and Employment lawyers who want our most flexible role: a fully-remote, hourly position that comes with the excitement of working with the best employment team in the country. We now have approximately 35 IST lawyers around the country, and we are attracting former partners and senior associates from firms as well as in-house who want the advantages and experience of working on exciting matters but not the demands of a full time, partner track position. Each of our IST lawyers are tied directly to one of our national offices, but can be physically located in many states throughout the country. Importantly, you'll be a member of our consistently top-ranked and nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice group. Learn more about our Labor & Employment department.
We are expanding this team - and we really need help in California! - and invite you to learn more about this unique opportunity.
You Have
5+ years of increasingly responsible employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side.
Familiarity with and experience in federal and state court practice, as well as with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state and local government administrative agencies.
Litigation experience, including drafting responsive pleadings, handling all aspects of the discovery process, and drafting motions, including motions for summary judgment. Candidates should also have the ability to handle a practice that includes handling EEOC charges, including defending investigations, preparing position statements, defending clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, representing clients in mediations and conciliations, and negotiating settlements.
A collegiate, cooperative approach and enjoy working with experienced lawyers sharing ideas, resources and best practices.
A desire to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, on track position. You do the work you agree to take on, with no obligations for marketing or other contribution hours.
Strong time management skills, and a flexibility around potential work flow. There is no billable hours expectation, and your schedule is up to you! Ideally, however, we would like candidates to commit to being available to work 1000 or more hours per hours a year depending on the specific casework.
An active bar license in the state in which you will reside and one in which Seyfarth maintains an office.
What We Provide
We provide competitive salary and benefits at all levels, including a hands-on learning experience by working side-by-side with our partners.
More About Seyfarth
The salary range for this role is starting at $105/HR. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
With approximately 1,000 lawyers across 17 offices, Seyfarth Shaw LLP provides advisory, litigation, and transactional legal services to clients worldwide. Learn more about The Seyfarth Experience at www.seyfarth.com/careers.
