Description & Requirements
#WeAreEA and we exist to inspire the world to play. EA values creativity, pioneering, passion, determination, learning, and teamwork. The Corporate Strategy team at EA drives EA's long-term growth and innovation. We specialize in turning bold ideas into tangible strategies, identifying emerging opportunities, and developing the next generation of strategic leaders.
We are seeking a seasoned strategic leader to serve as a key advisor to the President of EA SPORTS and their Leadership Team. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Strategy, this is a high-visibility position with significant engagement across EA, including the CEO and their executive staff.
This role offers a rare opportunity to define and execute a strategy that positions EA SPORTS as the most valuable and globally recognized sports brand. Working across iconic franchises such as FC, Madden NFL, College Football, UFC, NHL, and F1, you will shape the future of EA SPORTS and its influence in the global sports ecosystem, extending in, around, and beyond the bounds of interactive entertainment.
Your leadership will directly impact how EA SPORTS connects with fans worldwide, deepens its cultural relevance, and drives long-term business growth. Drawing on deep expertise in the sports industry and a proven track record of developing strategies in dynamic, competitive markets, you will play a pivotal role in unlocking the next phase of growth for EA SPORTS.
Responsibilities
Strategic Vision and Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to the President of EA SPORTS and leadership across EA SPORTS teams, including commercial, brand marketing, and the GMs of EA SPORTS individual franchises, shaping a long-term vision that positions the brand as a leader in the global sports ecosystem.
  • Build deep, credible relationships with senior leaders across EA SPORTS, positioning the Strategy function as an embedded and trusted member of the decision-making process.
  • Develop relationships with senior strategy leaders across relevant industries, including leagues, teams, media entities, and adjacent businesses, to exchange insights, explore opportunities, and inform EA SPORTS' strategic priorities.
  • Provide thought leadership on how changes in sports fandom, fan engagement, and emerging technologies are reshaping the future of sports, and create opportunities for EA SPORTS to lead.
  • In partnership with the Business Strategy and Intelligence teams, proactively analyze industry dynamics, including league and team performance, capital trends, rights structures, and emerging business models, to identify actionable implications for EA SPORTS.

Strategic Planning
  • Develop and manage a robust framework for evaluating strategic opportunities, including new ideas, licenses, and partnerships, ensuring alignment with EA SPORTS' growth objectives.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial, market, and scenario analyses to support the EA SPORTS leadership team in navigating complex business decisions.
  • Lead select high-impact strategic initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders, such as evaluating new licenses or supporting M&A diligence, to guide critical business decisions.
  • Collaborate with Development, Finance, and commercial teams to align franchise strategies with EA's corporate strategy and financial goals.
  • Deliver data-backed recommendations to guide strategic decisions and provide clear updates to C-level leadership and Board of Directors.

Mentor And Develop Strategy Talent
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative culture that bridges sports, entertainment, and technology, inspiring teams to think expansively.
  • Act as a senior leader within the Corporate Strategy team, actively mentoring and sponsoring emerging strategy talent, developing a pipeline of future scaled leaders, and contributing to the broader capability-building agenda of the function.
  • Demonstrate experience building and developing high-performing teams, with a track record of growing talent and, where relevant, expanding team scope and headcount in line with business needs.

Requirements
  • 12+ years of demonstrable relevant work experience in strategy or a related role, with 3+ years in a management capacity, in the media, sports, or technology space.
  • Deep experience in the sports ecosystem, including leagues, teams, sports networks, media entities, or adjacent businesses, with a strong working understanding of how rights structures, commercial partnerships, and value pools operate across the industry. Experience in or alongside the gaming industry is a plus, but sports industry expertise is the priority.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing large-scale strategies that deliver measurable business impact, including experience with adjacent revenue models, licensing, and partnership structures.
  • A proven relationship builder and influencer, someone who earns trust with senior stakeholders through credibility, humility, and a genuine desire to learn the business, and who can shape decisions without needing to be the loudest voice in the room.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with and advising senior leaders across complex, matrixed organizations, and influencing decision-making in high-stakes environments.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with experience in scenario modeling and financial analysis.
  • Experience building and scaling teams, with demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain strong strategy talent.
  • Adept at balancing a long-term strategic vision with immediate business needs, navigating ambiguity with clarity and confidence.
