Position: Senior Product Manager – general

Summary
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Gaia’s platform, driving initiatives that foster meaningful member interactions, including discussions, events, and user-generated content. Partner with marketing and growth teams to integrate community engagement into Gaia’s broader acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Feature Definition & Platform Development: Define and oversee development and implementation of community features from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals. Establish scalable frameworks for content moderation, trust, and safety to ensure a positive and inclusive community experience. Create clear, actionable product requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution: Lead and prioritize work for engineering, design, and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features. Manage relationships with third-party community platform providers and oversee technical integrations. Foster collaboration across departments, aligning stakeholders and building consensus on product vision.
  • Cross-Departmental Communication: Build effective relationships with stakeholders across all levels, align on project requirements, and provide clear status updates.
  • Analytics & Optimization: Define and track KPIs for growth. Leverage data-driven insights, user research, industry trends and competitive analysis to enhance engagement, retention, and conversion.

  • Familiarity with one or more modern community platforms, social APIs, and third‑party integrations (e.g., Khoros, Bettermode, Discord, Mighty Networks, Discourse, Circle)
  • Experience managing web and mobile app products, ideally for B2C companies with at least $50M annual revenue
  • Strong strategic vision combined with exceptional execution skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience managing cross‑functional teams (engineering, design, QA) and delivering complex, cross‑platform initiatives on time and within budget
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across departments and leadership levels, translating complex concepts for diverse audiences
  • Advanced problem‑solving and critical thinking skills with high emotional intelligence
  • Expertise in user research, competitive analysis, A/B testing, and establishing meaningful success metrics. Proficiency using AI tools to enhance productivity, support research, and generate insights.
  • Understanding of community moderation strategies, content policies, and user safety considerations, with the ability to adapt to Gaia’s unique community values
