Job description

The Part-Time Learning & Development Specialist provides onboarding, learner support, program coordination, and learning systems administration for Hill's U.S. workforce. Reporting to the Vice President of Learning & Development, this role coordinates weekly U.S. new hire orientation, manages the Learning & Development Request (LDR) process, supports Hill University administration and compliance reporting, and maintains digital learning resources in Articulate 360.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, responsive, and service-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accurate records and delivering a welcoming employee experience. This is a remote, part-time position for up to 20 hours per week.ย 

The schedule must support Monday orientation responsibilities and timely follow-up with U.S. employees and stakeholders. Additional hours will be coordinated based on business needs, workload, and approved priorities.

New Hire Orientation and Employee Support

  • Monitor Talent Management notifications to identify newly hired U.S. employees and upcoming start dates.

  • Send the initial Welcome to Hill communication, orientation invitation, and supporting materials to each new hire.

  • Facilitate a one-hour virtual U.S. New Hire Orientation, typically scheduled on Mondays.

  • Provide a professional, engaging introduction to Hill, employee resources, Hill University, required learning, and development opportunities.

  • Respond to onboarding and learning-related questions and serve as an ongoing Learning & Development resource for U.S. employees throughout their tenure.

  • Coordinate follow-up activities to ensure new hires receive consistent and timely support.

Learning & Development Request (LDR) Administration

  • Administer the U.S. LDR process from initial submission through completion.

  • Track request status, required approvals, supporting documentation, employee activity, and completion of milestones.

  • Maintain accurate LDR database records and update information promptly as requests progress.

  • Follow up with employees and approvers to help keep requests moving and documentation complete.

  • Provide status information and routine reporting to the Vice President of Learning & Development.

  • Maintain organized records that support policy compliance, reporting, and audit readiness.

  • Create quarterly LDR Metrics.

Hill University Administration

  • Confirm that new hire learner profiles have been created in Hill University and address basic profile issues.

  • Assign onboarding, compliance, and other required training as directed.

  • Run compliance, assignment, and completion of reports and support related follow-up activities.

  • Perform basic learning management system administrative tasks, including learner maintenance, assignment updates, and routine troubleshooting.

  • Respond to basic learner questions and escalate system or content issues when appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate learning records and support timely completion of required training.

Learning Content and Articulate Support

  • Maintain and update the #HillStrong Guide in Articulate to keep onboarding information current and accurate.

  • Create, revise, and publish surveys, assessments, and other Articulate-based materials as assigned.

  • Assist with updates to eLearning courses, presentations, job aids, and digital learning resources.

  • Perform quality checks to help ensure learning content is accurate, functional, and aligned with Hill standards.

Reporting, Administration, and Special Projects

  • Maintain Learning & Development records, files, trackers, and databases with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
