Job PurposeThe Operations Learning & Development (L&D) Digital Learning Specialist is responsible for evaluating training needs and developing digital learning solutions through the application and utilization of adult learning principles and technological tools. Conducts and implements training need assessments, program evaluations, instructional designs and digital learning programs.Creates effective learning programs to effectively train both technical and behavioral skills, using a variety of techniques such as eLearning, videos, electronic communications and supporting resources.Analyzes training effectiveness and works directly with management to identify solutions for future training needs and adjustments to existing courses.Relies on training and project management experience to plan and accomplish goals.Essential Responsibilities
  • Conducts needs assessments with stakeholders to identify training needs and appropriate objectives.
  • Coordinates all aspects of training design and delivery including needs analysis, content development, stakeholder reviews, and deployment of completed programs.
  • Recommends and implements computer-based training, videos, electronic communications and on the interactive job resources to meet the needs of the business.
  • Creates instructional design documents, storyboards, learning resources and advanced training solutions, such as simulations.
  • Applies adult learning principles and effective digital techniques to produce virtual learning.
  • Ensures the skills of each new associate are assessed before, during, and after training to ensure the trainee has the knowledge and skills to meet or exceed performance standards.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness using data driven metrics.
  • Consults with business partners, technical specialists, subject matter experts and other members of the training department to achieve program goals.
  • Collaborates with other Learning Specialists to offer guidance and share expertise in the development and use of digital learning development methodologies.

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have a working knowledge in a variety of adult learning concepts and best practices, and training procedures.
  • Experience designing and authoring key projects or parts of projects that involve interactive learning technologies such as multimedia training, CBT, WBT, or technology-based interventions.
  • Experience with digital development tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Aptitude for learning, or experience developing, web-based training using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or other appropriate programming languages and tools.
  • Experience in designing effective training solutions and assessing their impact on employee performance.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively on simultaneous projects under tight and changing priorities, scopes, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and on-time completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at various levels to recommend training solutions.
  • Ability to reason and simplify complex processes.
  • Knowledge of skills and business rules, which may include proficiency with: Jackson's administrative systems Products Distributor rules Tax laws State and Federal regulatory rules
  • Knowledge of financial services or insurance industry business operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or Communicationspreferred.
  • 1+ years of digital learning development required.
  • 1+ years experience developing in videos, electronic communications and interactive job resources preferred.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment, with a preference towards experience designing training systems, procedures and programs. required.
  • Experience with SumTotal LMS preferred.
