Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
Job Type: PRN, Nonexempt
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; Nights 7p - 7a, Every 3rd weekend rotation, on-call, and Holidays. Variable scheduling night and day shift available at both Maria Parham Health locations.
*minimum of two shifts per month

How you'll contribute
A Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions across all age groups. This role performs diagnostic testing, administers and evaluates ordered therapies, and collaborates with physicians to develop and implement individualized plans of care. The Respiratory Therapist responds to emergent situations, including codes, educates patients and families, maintains respiratory equipment and supplies, and ensures accurate documentation in the electronic medical record while adhering to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and often stressful healthcare environment. This role requires proficiency in learning and navigating multiple clinical software systems, along with effective communication skills in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. Candidates must also be committed to successfully completing all required skills competency assessments within 90 days of hire to ensure safe and effective job performance.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required. Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Current NC Respiratory Care Practitioner State Licensure with NC Respiratory Care Board, Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials by the NBRC.
  • (BCLS) Basic Life Support certification is required
  • ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete the skills competency checklist within 90 days of hire
