Job description

Position Type: Full-Time (36 hours/week), Non-exempt
Shift Available: Night shift, 12 hour shifts
 

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum requirements include the following:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing with the State of North Dakota.

Current BLS certification.

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Must have driver’s license.

Must have no disciplinary action in effect against certification.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess assigned patient's daily care needs.  Provides or assists assigned patients with their daily care needs and provides daily care activities according to established procedures and with consideration for the patients' choices, privacy, dignity and independence. Performs or assists the patients in performing, specific medical care activities according to established procedures and to contribute to the patient's plan of care. Performs safety and infection control procedures to insure a safe and clean environment for the patients and staff. Assists in ER as needed with various tasks.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
CNA must have the visual and auditory ability to observe the  needs of  patients in order to provide quality care; must have the ability to learn and comprehend basic medical terminology; must have the ability to verbally communicate and problem solve effectively with patients in ambulating, turning in bed, and transferring in and out of bed or wheelchair; must have the physical ability to lift, to assist with transferring and repositioning of adult patients; must have the physical ability to respond in a quick manner and in accordance with established facility procedures regarding unexpected patient safety needs; and must have the ability to complete forms and records; must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork; must have ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
