) Maintenance Assistant
Location: The Gardens at Camp Hill - Camp Hill, PA
The Gardens at Camp Hill, a skilled nursing facility in Camp Hill, PA, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This full-time position offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where your expertise will contribute to the safety, functionality, and overall upkeep of our facility.
Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Day Shift (Monday-Friday)
  • On-call weekends and holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering, and mechanical work.
  • Maintain the facility by repairing walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, and windows, as well as handling trash removal.
  • Move and arrange furniture as needed to complete assignments efficiently.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance tasks with nursing services when working in resident care areas.
  • Follow established maintenance schedules and supervisor instructions in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintain facility grounds, including mowing, trimming, sweeping, and upkeep of parking areas and driveways.
  • Replace burned-out light bulbs, including exit and overhead lights, to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist in executing the Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure all machinery and equipment remain in optimal working condition.
  • Respond promptly to unscheduled or emergency maintenance requests as needed.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning materials, equipment, and general repair tools.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience with commercial painting, drywall repair, and replacement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
