Job description


The Camp Maintenance employee performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of camp facilities and infrastructure. The role supports safe and efficient camp operations through maintenance activities involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, generators, water systems, and general facility repairs. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in Arctic conditions.
Operators must be knowledgeable about different parts of the machine and troubleshoot any challenges that may arise.
Location: Alaska
Rotation: 14x14 or 21x21 (including weekends and holidays)
Responsibilities
    • Perform maintenance and repair work on camp facilities and related infrastructure.
    • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete scheduled maintenance activities.
    • Perform general carpentry repairs including doors, windows, drywall, cabinetry, furniture, painting, and minor construction projects.
    • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, water lines, drains, and wastewater systems.
    • Perform basic electrical maintenance, including lighting, outlets, switches, breakers, and heat trace systems.
    • Maintain HVAC systems, including filters, furnaces, air conditioning units, ductwork, and controls.
    • Monitor and assist with the operation of generators, potable water systems, wastewater systems, and lift stations.
    • Complete maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and safety documentation.
    • Operate forklifts and other equipment as required.
    • Assist with snow removal and maintain safe access to camp facilities.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
    • Participate in safety meetings, training, and emergency response activities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous maintenance experience in camp, industrial, oilfield, facilities, or construction environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a remote Arctic environment under varying weather conditions
  • Must meet all Nabors pre-employment and onboarding requirements, including but not limited to successful completion of background screening, drug and alcohol testing, fit-for-duty/medical evaluations, required training, and any client-specific access requirements as a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Working Conditions
  • Remote rotational work schedule on Alaska's North Slope.
  • Exposure to extreme cold, wind, snow, and other Arctic environmental conditions.
  • May require overtime, call-outs, and emergency maintenance response as needed.
  • Must comply with all Nabors safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
