Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter/Lead Man/Lead Woman to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will lead on-site carpentry projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and efficient workflow. As a key team member, you will oversee daily operations, mentor apprentices, and coordinate with home owners and project managers to deliver exceptional results. Your expertise in various carpentry disciplines will drive the success of diverse projects, from framing and trim work to restoration and remodeling. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your leadership skills while working on challenging and rewarding construction initiatives.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise carpentry crew on-site, ensuring safety protocols and quality standards are met at all times
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise construction tasks
  • Perform a wide range of carpentry work including framing, trim installation, door hanging, cabinet installation, flooring, painting, siding, roofing, and drywall finishing
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment efficiently and safely
  • Execute specialized tasks such as concrete forming, rebar installation, plastering, stucco application, masonry work, and water damage restoration
  • Coordinate with other trades such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and masonry to ensure seamless project progression
  • Oversee construction site safety practices and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Assist in the training of apprentices or junior team members to develop their skills in carpentry techniques
  • Maintain detailed records of work progress, materials used, and any issues encountered during projects

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a journeyman/journeywoman carpenter with a strong background in framing, trim carpentry, roofing, siding, and restoration projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising teams on construction sites
  • Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting equipment, and fabrication tools
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
  • Experience working in the restoration industry or water damage remediation is a plus
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction sites (OSHA standards)
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and team members
  • Additional skills such as plumbing, electrical experience, tile laying, flooring installation, metal stud framing or mold remediation are advantageous
