In this direct-hire Chemical Testing Specialist - Coatings/Adhesives role, you will apply your expertise in coatings, adhesives, and flexible web processing to conduct critical testing and analysis for product development and quality assurance. Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct precise testing of commercial and developmental coatings and adhesive products according to customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Prepare and analyze prototype coatings and adhesive constructions, providing detailed reports and data for product development.
  • Perform long-term aging tests on selected products, meticulously documenting and evaluating results.
  • Generate raw material comparison studies to qualify new materials for coatings and adhesive formulations.
  • Collaborate with technical and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot coating and adhesive related issues.
  • Develop and compile Certificates of Analysis for commercial and developmental projects.
  • Assemble and evaluate data to establish preliminary specifications for new coating and adhesive products.
  • Generate manufacturing genealogy reports as required.
  • Provide occasional support to the main quality assurance laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of all test results and reports.
  • Interface with vendors to support process trial activities.
  • Prepare product samples for customer evaluations, following technical team guidelines.

Skills/Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in coatings, adhesives, or flexible web processing.
  • Strong understanding of coatings chemistry, including formulation and testing principles.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory testing equipment specific to coatings and adhesives.
  • Experience with web handling processes related to paper or film coatings is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and database management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
