Job Summary:   Under the supervision of the Count Supervisor, Count Team Members collect, sort, count, record, and process contents of Slot and Table Game drop boxes according to set procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures keys are picked up and returned on time.
  • Ensures drop starts on time.
  • Performs drop on all gaming slot machines.
  • Ensures Count starts on time.
  • Removes contents from all slot and table game boxes that are gathered from the drop.
  • Counts all cash from each box including table games individually, recording the results in computer on a count summary sheet.
  • Balances total cash with grand total on the count summary sheet which includes any variance and/or compares information contained in drop boxes to data stored on computer.
  • Sort, strap, clip and brick all cash.
  • Ensures count complies with Minimum Internal Control Standards and departmental policy and procedures.
  • Ensures paperwork is submitted during shift.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep of the count room.
  • Notifies Count Supervisor of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Communicates to Supervisor supplies needed to perform duties.
  • Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Complete all required training satisfactorily.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must be flexible with shifts and days off, with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and special events, etc., as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Long periods of sitting and standing. Significant bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling are required. Substantial use of wrist, hands, and fingers.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels, a smoke-filled environment and some exposure to dust and room temperature changes.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
