Job description

We are a growing custom fabrication company specializing in high-quality custom elevator cabs, and we're looking for an experienced SolidWorks Manufacturing Drafter who can make an immediate impact.

This is not a product design or engineering role. Our customers provide the project specifications and design intent. Your responsibility is to review those requirements, create accurate manufacturing drawings, identify potential issues before production, and ensure every project is complete, accurate, and ready for fabrication.

We're looking for someone who naturally asks, "What could go wrong?" before a project reaches the shop floor. The ideal candidate has the experience and confidence to catch mistakes others miss, prevent costly production issues, and help improve our drafting processes.

As our company continues to grow, this position offers a clear opportunity to advance into a leadership or management role.

What You'll Do

  • Create detailed manufacturing and submittal drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and project requirements for accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Identify dimensional conflicts, missing information, design inconsistencies, and production issues before release.
  • Verify materials, dimensions, fabrication details, and project requirements.
  • Ensure drawings align with customer specifications, project quotes, budgets, and company standards.
  • Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Production to ensure projects move smoothly through manufacturing.
  • Communicate with customers when clarification is needed.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and revision control.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve drawing quality, consistency, and production efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of SolidWorks drafting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience creating shop drawings and production-ready manufacturing drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify mistakes before they become production problems.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication methods.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, architectural drawings, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Experience

  • Sheet metal fabrication
  • Custom manufacturing
  • Architectural millwork
  • Elevator manufacturing
  • Construction-related manufacturing

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing drafter who enjoys solving problems, preventing mistakes before they happen, and wants to help build and lead a high-performing drafting team.

Company Description

We are a leading manufacturer of custom elevator cabs, known for quality craftsmanship, innovation, and exceptional customer service. Our supportive, team-focused culture offers employees the opportunity to learn, grow, and build rewarding careers.
