Dow Credit Union is seeking a results-driven, member-focused Mortgage Sales Manager to lead and grow our residential mortgage sales function. This is a unique opportunity for a producing sales leader ("player-coach") who is passionate about developing high-performing teams, building strong community relationships, and delivering exceptional member experiences.
This position offers a competitive annual salary of up to $108,000 based on experience, representing a strong position within the role's salary range. What You'll Do
As the Mortgage Sales Manager, you will lead a high-performing team while actively contributing to mortgage production. You will partner closely with the Director of Lending to drive strategy, accountability, and growth across the mortgage sales function.
Key Responsibilities
Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team
  • Recruit, hire, coach, and develop Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs) and support staff
  • Set clear expectations and drive accountability for performance, service, and activity goals
  • Provide ongoing coaching through pipeline reviews, one-on-ones, and performance discussions

Drive Mortgage Growth
  • Execute a proactive business development strategy to grow mortgage volume
  • Build and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, financial advisors, and other referral partners
  • Coach team members on pipeline management, referral generation, and conversion effectiveness

Serve as a Producing Leader
  • Dedicate approximately 20-25% of time to personal loan origination
  • Maintain an active pipeline and contribute directly to production goals
  • Serve as the primary originator for Dow Credit Union employee mortgage and HELOC requests

Strengthen Performance & Quality
  • Monitor production, pipeline activity, conversion rates, and overall team performance
  • Conduct call reviews and application quality monitoring to drive consistency and compliance
  • Implement targeted coaching and corrective action when needed

Support Strategic Growth & Operations
  • Partner with leadership on product development, pricing, and competitive positioning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Compliance, Risk, Marketing, Processing, and Consumer Lending
  • Ensure efficient, compliant, and member-focused mortgage processes

Engage in the Community
  • Represent the credit union at community events, networking opportunities, and financial education initiatives
  • Build brand visibility and support referral growth in the local market

What We're Looking For
  • 5-8 years of progressive mortgage lending experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a sales-driven environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, processes, and regulations
  • Proven ability to coach and develop team members to achieve results
  • Strong sales, business development, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and drive strategy
  • NMLS registration required (SAFE Act compliant)
  • Experience with Encompass LOS preferred
