Job description

Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Northbrook
Supervisor: Finance Director
Schedule: Monday through Friday / 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
FLSA Classification: Full-time / Exempt / Salary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist supports Keshet's day-to-day receivable and billing operations, helping maintain accurate financial records while providing excellent customer service to families and community partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process and post payments, tuition, donations, and program revenue accurately
  • Maintain accounts receivable records and assist with collections follow-up
  • Prepare bank deposits and assist with monthly reconciliations and reporting
  • Support billing for programs, school districts, and state agencies
  • Assist families with payment plans and financial assistance processes
  • Collaborate with Finance, Development, and Program teams to ensure accurate records across systems
  • Provide timely, professional, and compassionate communication with families, donors, and stakeholders
  • Support audits, month-end processes, and other finance-related projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Accounting
  • Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
