Job description

Your Role:

Fundraise for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) by building and strengthening donor relationships and connecting passions and interests to funding opportunities with individual, corporate, and foundation donors in the $7,500+ annual gift category.

Pay, Schedule & Benefits:
  • The anticipated starting pay range is $88,700 - $95,000.
  • This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position. Typical work schedule is M-F during daytime business hours. Occasional nights and weekends may be required. Approximately 25-30% all-expenses-paid domestic/international travel is required.

What You’ll Do:
  • Meaningfully engage with current and prospective donors. Foster and strengthen relationships. Inspire donors to become more invested in feeding kids.
  • Qualify a caseload of donors by seeking out donor interests, passions, and capacity for being upgraded in giving and involvement. Analyze donor giving/involvement and potential for increasing.
  • Create and execute individual plans for each donor tailored to their passions, interests, motivations, giving patterns, and preferences. Execute each plan with the goal of retaining and upgrading donors.
  • Engage new donors through networking and pursuing relationships.
  • Actively seek out new information on FMSC’s operations, initiatives, productssen impact. Seek out internal stories and news. Remain updated on current marketing materials and special events. Use all of this information to prepare and deliver informed, impactful, tailored invitations and “asks”.
  • Write tailored funding/partnership proposals. Research each funding opportunity’s requirements. Write and submit tailored and compelling requests.
  • Make 50+ high touch weekly contacts through a combination of phone, email, handwritten notes, and face to face meetings. Solicit engagement, express thanks, and offer prayer.
  • Maintain accurate donor/prospect information in donor database.
  • Collaborate on other strategic fundraising initiatives (ex. special event sponsorships).
  • Share donor relations successes and best practices with peers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications:
  • Commitment to support, promote and authentically communicate FMSC’s Christian mission and goals.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in development or high volume sales required. In lieu of degree, relevant work experienced will be considered.
  • Experience meeting sales/fundraising goals, increasing client/donor engagement, and making the “ask” and “close” is required. Experience building strong in-person and phone donor/client relationships is required.
  • Self-directed with high level of energy, self-motivation, and independence with limited direct supervision.
  • Able to accept a challenge or project and carry it through to completion with tenacity.
  • Exceptional storyteller. Adept in public speaking.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Experience with donor/sales databases preferred.

  • Work location is Tempe, AZ. Position will have flexible/hybrid work schedule that allows for both office and remote work.
  • Reports to Development Manager.
