LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for an experienced professional for the Donor Services Manager position based in Montgomery, AL. This position is responsible for managing the collection operations for whole blood and apheresis to ensure achievement of annual goals in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will create a team environment and provide the leadership needed to maintain premier donor care, customer safety and satisfaction during the blood collection process.


**Prior phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred.****We are currently seeking qualified CDL drivers to join our team!**

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)

  • Assist the Regional Director and/or Regional Manager with the oversight of blood collection and donor recruitment
  • Monitor regional projections and planning to ensure the collection goals for the region are met or exceeded
  • Supervise staff including hiring, training, evaluating and disciplining to ensure a well-qualified team and enhance operational success
  • Motivate and educate Donor Services staff members, including establishing and maintaining a positive team morale and fostering operational cooperation within the district and region
  • Plan, organize, manage and direct all aspects of whole blood, apheresis and automated collection operations (fixed site or mobile) to ensure appropriate staffing and a smooth, efficient process
  • Review weekly recruitment goals and projections; Implement corrective action when projections and goals are not being met
  • Represent and promote LifeSouth and its mission to the community
  • Successful completion of CDL training program and state CDL licensing
  • Drive bloodmobiles when necessary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of supervisory or management experience
  • Valid driver's license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications
  • Ability to effectively delegate
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
