Job description

PURPOSE:  

Ensures proper pricing, itemization, tagging, signing and documentation of UPC/PLUs for all store merchandise. Operates the computer and maintains computerized records. Research and reports scanning issues for resolution.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly Customer Service.  

Responsible for pricing and documentation of pricing throughout the store.  

Hangs all signs and tags for advertised specials.  

Maintains and completes resets - New items/Refresh subscribe selections, and replace tags as needed.  

Organizes price changes, sorts of tags and signs by department/aisle, hangs price tags and signs throughout the store. Research and reports problems.  

Conducts scan audits. Ensures proper placement of tags and signs. Replaces missing or damaged tags.  

Assists in managing in-store markdown links according to Division Policy.  

Assists Scan Coordinator/File Maintenance Manager in verifying all tags and signs, every questionable item must be researched, reported, and corrected as needed.  

Assists in ensuring pricing integrity throughout the store. Maintains and ensures placement of price accuracy guarantee signs on shelves and on the front end.  

May be asked to maintain tag subscription and batches.  

Knowledge of proper stocking procedures and store layout.  

Ability to follow and maintain department standards and requirements.  

Working knowledge of Company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.  

Complies with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and Company policies.  

Complies with all workplace safety rules and regulations.  

Ensures safety, cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment.  

Implements emergency procedures in the event of equipment and computer software malfunctions.  

Operates computer software and electronic scanning devices.  

Complies with company grooming standards and dress code.  

Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately and with honesty and integrity.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Requires good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional demeanor regarding customers and co-workers.  

Ability to frequently reach, lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 60 lbs. Bends, stoops and reaches frequently. Pushes and pulls fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks. Performs repetitious arm movement to hang tags and display signs.  

Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary. Ability to stand for long periods of time.  

Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities. Requires knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures. Must have knowledge of product variety, standards, perishability, product handling, sanitation, labeling and department policies and procedures.  

Operates telephone, computers, electronic scanning devices, printers, and safety cutters. Utilizes cleaning supplies and equipment.  

Operates computer software and electronic scanning devices to check for pricing errors.  

May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Scheduled hours will vary. Good attendance is required.  

Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aids necessary to perform job duties.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

Generally, works in a temperature-controlled environment. Minimal exposure to refrigerated conditions and items at or around 35.  

Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required.
