Job Description:

Position Summary
This role supports Elevance Health by assisting with inbound mail processing and document services operations. Responsibilities include opening and sorting mail, scanning documents, distributing correspondence, and performing various administrative and operational support tasks. Candidates should have strong communication skills, basic Microsoft Office knowledge, and the ability to perform physical mailroom duties.
Key Responsibilities
Mailroom Operations

  • Process and sort incoming mail and packages.
  • Open and distribute inbound mail.
  • Prepare, process, and distribute outgoing mail.
  • Apply appropriate postage using mail metering equipment.
  • Handle shipping and receiving duties.
  • Maintain mail logs and service records.
Document Imaging & Copy Services
  • Operate high-volume copy and duplicating equipment.
  • Scan and digitize documents using imaging systems.
  • Use document imaging and management software.
  • Perform document binding, finishing, and quality control checks.
  • Generate reports for printing, imaging, and mail systems.
Administrative Support
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Email systems.
  • Open, save, retrieve, and transfer electronic files according to company procedures.
  • Access and manage documents within document management systems.
  • Maintain inventory records and supply logs.
  • Calculate job charges and maintain billing records when required.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding service requests and job status.
  • Perform filing, archiving, and document purging activities.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Inspect copier and mailroom equipment daily.
  • Clear paper jams and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to service technicians.
  • Learn and operate scanners and mail metering machines.
  • Maintain meter readings and service documentation.
Facility & Operational Support
  • Deliver completed jobs to designated locations.
  • Assist with meeting room and conference room setups.
  • Support office relocations and occupant moves as assigned.
  • Perform light building maintenance tasks, including re-lamping when required.
  • Assist with general housekeeping and workspace organization.
  • Travel between buildings when necessary.
Additional Duties
  • Operate bindery and finishing equipment, including:
    • Shrink-wrap machines
    • Paper cutters
    • Hole drills
    • Joggers
    • Tape machines
    • Electric staplers
    • Scales
  • Respond to customer service requests promptly.
  • Work occasional overtime, evenings, weekends, or emergency support shifts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of related work experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous mailroom, copy center, or document services experience is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn and operate scanners, copiers, and mailroom equipment.
  • Familiarity with document management systems is helpful.
